This joint seminar with Climate Action Preston on community energy schemes will be delivered by Paul Phare, Development Manager at Energy4All and Board member of several community energy organisations and Kate Gilmartin, Community Energy Investment Lead, Lancashire County Council and member of Greater Manchester Community Renewables’.
An uncertain energy future lies ahead of us and many communities across the UK have already invested in community-owned energy generation to reduce carbon emissions. Some groups are also addressing local fuel poverty. Collective action to use the power we have as individuals and as a community can be an effective response. At this online event, PCDN in partnership with Climate Action Preston will introduce Preston Solar Action as one such opportunity. We’ll give examples of similar projects in the UK and answer all your questions. The event will look at the different approaches, including installing solar panels on commercial buildings, and consider if there’s enough interest, roofs, and people to get the project off the ground in Preston. We’re at the beginning of this journey. Please come along to our event to find out more about the project and how you can get involved.
